Railway

A great day out for holiday home owners at Glan-y-don Holiday Home Park is the Talyllyn Railway. This narrow-gauge steam railway is the world’s first preserved railway, running since 1865! You will be transported through ancient woodlands and Nant Gwernol buried under the mountains. There’s plenty of wildlife from red kites to owls, falcons and more to spot on this journey too. You’ll feel like you are on a fairy-tale train ride on the Talyllyn Railway. Arriving back at Tywyn station you can enjoy a bite to eat and a coffee (or a real ale) at the King’s Café and Railway Shop. This is a fantastic family day out in Wales.
